Mike McRae is a hard man to define. Bounty hunter, drug smuggler, award winning director of nature documentaries, circus strong man...he is none of these things. Mind you, that doesn't make him a bad person. The fact he has been a medical scientist, a secondary school science teacher, a science communicator, a writer and an artist just might, however.
Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, Mike has wandered the globe in search of good food, crappy souvenirs, and the perfect beer, and after a few years of life in London now lives in Canberra with his wife Liz. He has written and illustrated work for the CSIRO's Helix magazine, is editor for their Science by Email publication, has written chapters and done artwork for the Dragon Moon Press books 'Complete Guide to Writing Fantasy' and 'Complete Guide to Writing Science Fiction', has written chapters for Millennium House's Scientifica and writes and gives talks on critical thinking and education to the public. In between all of this he amuses himself by creating some rather interesting artworks.
